Let me paint a mental picture for you…You are a theatre student. You love the artistry and creativity expressed through the belting out of great show tune, the beautifully choreographed steps of a “big number”, or a single glistening tear rolling down the cheek of an actor/actress at the perfect moment. This is your love and your joy! This…is the theatre.

Ok, so now that we’ve taken a moment to remind ourselves how great the art of theatre is, let’s ask ourselves:  Where is the most exciting place in the world to watch a masterfully performed show for your entertainment and education?  Why, it’s Broadway of course!

Theatre student trips in NYC are always great because of all the opportunities there are to do awesome stuff while we’re there.  We always make it a point to go take theatre students and their teachers over to legendary Broadway to catch a show! We wanted to tell you about some of the awesome shows on Broadway right now, AND the new shows you have to look forward to this upcoming Spring!

School of Rock – The Musical

School of Rock follows wannabe rock star Dewey Finn as he poses as a substitute teacher at a fancy prep school to earn some extra cash. When he discovers that his new class has some serious musical talent, he instructs them in the ways of rock n roll in order to compete in the upcoming Battle of the Bands contest.

“Dewey may teach the kids how to “Stick it to the Man,” but they end up teaching him and thing or two in return.  Come see the show and rock out to the energetic new score by Andrew Lloyd Webber – all played live by the kids on stage!

Anastasia: Home At Last

“The new musical, Anastasia, may feature the classic songs from the animated film – but even if you know the movie, this show is still a wonderful adventure full of charming music and lovable characters!

“This show tells the story of Anya, a beautiful and feisty young woman with amnesia who may be the long-lost Romanov princess! With the help of the handsome and streetwise Dmitri, she journeys to Paris to meet the Dowager Empress who is searching for her lost granddaughter. Join Anya on her quest to discover her history, family, and her true identity.”
