NBC Studio Tour
The NBC Studio tour is one of the highlights of our trip whenever we head the New York! If you’re a fan of any one or more of the shows produced here at the NBC Studio, such as the hilarious ‘30 Rock’ or ‘NBC News’, or if you just appreciate the intricacies of television production, you will love getting to take this in-depth behind the scenes look of one of the most famous studios in the world.
This tour is also interactive! In addition to getting an exciting peek into the world of television, visitors also get the chance to create your own show! It’s a ton of fun – Check out ours here! This is definitely one of our favorite stops for DECA marketing trips!
Federal Reserve Gold Vault Tour
In this tour of the New York Federal Reserve, you will learn about the purpose of the Federal Reserve, what they do, and how that affects the financial stability of the economy. Visitors also get the opportunity to see the famous vault that houses gold for governments and banks around the world! This is an essential tour for DECA students interested in finance and business.
Wall Street insiders Tour
The Wall Street Insiders Tour is definitely something we recommend to anyone who has interest in business, the early immigrant spirit of entrepreneurship in NYC, or the history of American finance. Between visiting the meeting places of some of the world’s most influential dealmakers, learning about the history and architecture surrounding the famous Wall Street block, and getting to hear about the early history of the original Dutch settlers that first occupied the area, you will leave this place with a greater knowledge and appreciation of the deep significance of this incredible part of the city.
Foods of the Lower East Side at The Tenement Museum
Oh boy, oh boy, just wait til you try the goodies that the wonderful volunteer workers at the famous Tenement Museum have prepared for you when you show up here! For student groups who visit the Tenement Museum, they have an incredible experience of tastings and touring that will leave you drooling for more (literally)!
In this fun and unique visit, students get the chance to try some of the most delicious foods born of the early years of New York City immigration in the Lower East Side of the city, as cultures from around the world began to interplay culinary practices with American traditions in the early days of the city.
Among our very favorite tastes were the pickled pineapple and the peanut butter noodles. We think you’ll really like them too!
When students are on DECA marketing trips in New York City, in addition to visiting all of the cool business-y attractions, they have to take the opportunity to see some of the most iconic aspects of the city! If you haven’t been on a New York City subway yet, get ready for an experience of a lifetime!
You will be met by street performers – musicians, dancers, beatboxers, singers, hula-hoopers, impressionists, mimes, and any number of other entertainers. Getting to be a witness of all of the incredible hustle and bustle of the city in the subways is one of the most fun and authentic experiences in the city!
Little Italy & Chinatown
Like taking a step into another world, visiting New York’s Little Italy or Chinatown is an experience nobody should miss! Whether you’ve had the opportunity to travel to each of these respective cultural homelands before, or whether this is your first real experience being exposed to foreign cultures, walking the streets of each of these corners of the city will open your eyes to new sights of the world that you may never have experienced before!
It is always an exciting experience to visit one of Little Italy’s corner pizza stands for a slice or any one of the beautiful and famous churches in the neighborhood. You won’t be disappointed with whatever it is you choose to do with your time here!
A visit to Chinatown is an experience only truly possible to take in through one’s own eyes. The butcher shops, corner markets lined with foreign newspapers, and the authentic Chinese pastry shops make this part of the city a must see!
